Reached by crossing the Arno, passing by the historic Ponte Buriano, the winding road leads you into the hills, through olive groves and sunflower fields, offering glimpses of sleepy villages along the way. Upon arrival, the commanding hillside position rewards you with breathtaking views: dense forest to one side and a vast valley stretching towards Arezzo on the other.
It is a place of peace and tranquillity. It is impossible not to feel an affinity, a bond, with the natural world that encircles you here.
Sitting 600 metres above sea level, in the foothills of the Pratomagno, the estate spans 86 hectares. We have dedicated six hectares to vineyards, selecting only the most suitable land to cultivate high-quality grapes. The remaining land comprises forests, sprawling olive groves, open fields, decorative gardens and a large freshwater lake that nourishes our vineyards.
The varietal expression of the grapes is strongly influenced by altitude, which ranges from 450 to 580 metres above sea level. Each vineyard benefits from a distinct exposure — south, southeast, or east — ensuring gentle morning sunlight. The surrounding forest creates a natural microclimate, tempering the intensity of afternoon heat while encouraging airflow and natural ventilation, helping to preserve the grapes’ inherent acidity. The soils are complex and diverse: galestro and sandstone contribute elegance, complexity, and aromatic depth, while the presence of sand and clay ensures excellent drainage, maintaining optimal moisture balance and the steady availability of essential nutrients.

The Casucci forest, teeming with oak, birch, chestnut, and maple trees, provides a haven for wildlife. In the early autumn, we are treated to sightings of wild boar with their young offspring. More rarely are glimpses of deer, while hares, rabbits and foxes abound. And, of course, the estate is an ornithologist’s dream. Kestrels, buzzards and hawks can be observed hovering for their prey, while watching the swallows swooping to cool down in the freshwater lake on summer afternoons is a simple but beautiful meditation. Sheep sorrel, milk thistle, yarrow, and fennel are just some of the florae that flourish happily in the vineyards. These not only ensure biodiversity but also act as a cooling influence, helping to maintain the vines’ health and vitality.
